a.  What Is NATA?

The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA Test) measures aptitude of applicant for Architecture. The test measures aesthetic sensitivity, creative thinking, that have been developed over a long period of time and that are related to Architecture.

b.  Who Takes NATA and Why?

Prospective applicants desirous of taking admission to First year of undergraduate course in Architecture (Bachelor of Architecture) in India take the NATA Test. NATA test scores are taken by admissions authorities of different schools/ colleges of Architecture to provide common measures for comparing the qualifications of applicants.

c. What is the syllabus for the Aptitude test in both NATA & JEE?

SYLLABUS FOR APTITUDE TEST:

NATA JEE
  • Visualizing three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings
  • Visualizing different sides of three dimensional objects
  • Indentifying commonly used materials and objects based on their textural qualities
  • Analytical reasoning and mental ability
  • Imaginative comprehension and expression.
  • Architectural awareness
  • Basic mathematics.
  • Imaginative comprehension and expression.
  • Visualizing three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings
  • Visualizing different sides of three dimensional objects
  • Identifying commonly used materials and objects based on their textural qualities and colour
  • Analytical reasoning and mental ability
  • Awareness of persons, places, buildings
  • 30 questions from engineering mathematics.
  • +2 mathematics.

d.  Where and when do students take the NATA?

  • NATA can be given from 1st January till 30th September every year at designated Test Centers
  • Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis
  • The candidate may take NATA any number of times subject to availability of appointment at the Test Centers. However, full fees will have to be paid for every new attempt.

e.  Who Accepts It?

Almost all Schools in India accept the NATA score, for the schools that accept your NATA scores a 50% weightage is given for your NATA score and a 50% weightage for your qualifying examination marks. The other schools such as SPAs, NITs and IITs have separate entrance exams.

Absolutely, the classes cover all the basics of Architecture and will enable you to score well on NATA. There are classes for developing sketching which in fact provides a very good foundation for your career in architecture.

h. I need some guidance on the drawing section asked in the NATA & JEE Test?

Special coaching classes according to the schedule are provided for developing sketching and perspective drawing skills. These classes are taken by well experienced panel of tutors.

j. Using what colouring medium gives the best result for the NATA test?

The best medium is water color; poster color etc.All the final drawings are scanned and mailed to the examiners. For pencil sketching use soft pencils for better appearance.

k.How does the mock test help us?

The mock test is similar to NATA test and also time limiting. It also covers the syllabus of NATA /JEE and the test is from a large pool of questions.
